my-terms

Please Bring With You:

1. A valid provisional licence; either the "Old" style paper licence with a valid passport or "New" style with photo identification with the paper counterpart.

2. Theory Test certificate (only required if already passed).

3. Glasses or contact lenses, if you have poor eyesight - The distance requirement for the old-style number plate is 20.5 metres. The distance requirement for the eyesight test with the new-style number plate is 20 metres. New-style number plates were introduced on 1 September 2001 and are easily identifiable because they start with two letters ie AB51 ABC.

Paying by cash or cheque:
One lesson at least must be paid in advance by the end of each lesson (should you wish to carry on). This is to cover short notice cancellations (see below). Cheques are accepted with a cheque guarantee card and should be made payable to Paul Vickery.

Controls Lesson:
This is a controls lesson only. It is designed for pupils with no driving experience at all. By the end of the lesson, you should be able to demonstrate proper use of the foot and hand controls.

Single/Assessment/Refresher Lesson:
These lessons are designed for pupils who want to pay for lessons individually, want an assessment on their progress to date or just to refresh.

Intensive Course:
This course is designed for pupils who do not have time to study in between lessons or who find it difficult to retain information. There is plenty of practice and recapping throughout the day. It is also useful for pupils who have a test coming up. Payments are usually to be made 1 week in advance. Times are usually 10am till 4pm including a 1 hour break. Start times are an example and are flexible.

Pass Plus:
Payments are to be made 1 week in advance. Cost £150 (6 hourly modules) including motorway driving, night driving, rural driving. A certificate will be presented to you by the DSA on completion - go to www.dsa.gov.uk for more information and cash back discounts.

Hire of Car for Practical Test:
Payments are to be made 1 week in advance. Cost £85. This includes a 90 min lesson. Pick-up from agreed address. This is extremely useful for pupils to iron out any minor errors before the exam. Pupils must use their instructor’s car to take their test and may only take their test if their instructor feels they are ready (you can postpone your test 3 days before without losing your test fee).

Cancellations:
Lessons changed or cancelled without at least 48 hours notice, from the time you have booked, must be paid for. Your instructor is also responsible to give you at least 48 hours notice should lessons be postponed. If not, you will not be charged for your next short-notice cancellation, as long as you re-schedule within the same week. Please, however, try to keep to your appointments.

Refunds:
It is your right to a refund for any reason as long as you give at least 48 hours notice. Intensive Courses require at least 1 week notice. There will be a 10% administration charge on any refunds. Refunds will be sent to you via cheque.
